 I am 26 and was born with the neural tube birth defect Spina Bifida Myelomeningocele, level L5-S1. I use a wheelchair for long distances, and walk with a cane in the day-to-day. I'm an avid traveler--I have been all over the US, to Germany twice, Haiti, Jamaica, Grand Cayman and look forward to visiting the Bahamas and US Virgin Islands in 2014. I'm currently a graduate student in Thanatology (end of life/grief and bereavement studies) and am considered a death and loss professional by the Association for Death Education & Counseling.
